MOTORIZATION FOR THE ENVIRONMENT
DENR acquires e-vehicles from Mitsubishi Motors
At the 1st ASEAN Electric and Hybrid Vehicle Summit, Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) turned over five units of Outlander Plugin Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVS) and five units of i-mitsubishi Innovative Electric Vehicle (I-MIEV), along with four electric vehicle quick charger units to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).
“together with the Philippine government, we will study how to lower environmental impact to society through automotive electrification. We share the same vision as the Philippine government in accelerating the motorization while minimizing the environmental impact,” said Osamu Masuko, Mitsubishi Motors Corporation Chief Executive Officer.
this is in line with their partnership signed last February of this year for a joint study on how the same electronic technologies used in the Outlander PHEV and I-MIEV can help in environmental load reduction. MMC also seeks to invite other government offices, as well as universities and electric companies to take part in the said study to determine the most effective way of reducing carbon dioxide emission and traffic congestion in the country. The delivered PHEV and I-MIEV units will be utilized by the DENR and other government offices for business use. Quick chargers will also be installed at the central, and Davao and Cebu regional offices of DENR. Read more at mmpc.ph.
