1st Asus Zen­fone AR Hackathon show­cases Pi­noy tal­ent in AR/VR app de­vel­op­ment

Asus Philip­pines joined forces with VR Philip­pines, a com­mu­nity of vir­tual re­al­ity (VR) de­vel­op­ers and en­thu­si­asts that pro­motes VR ad­vance­ment in the coun­try, and key part­ners from pri­vate and gov­ern­ment sec­tors in stag­ing the first-ever and one-of-its-kind 48-hour hackathon event ti­tled Zen­fone AR: A New Re­al­ity Hackathon.

Held from June 22 to 24 at Whites­pace Manila in Makati City, the hackathon gath­ered six fi­nal­ist teams from dif­fer­ent parts of the coun­try to vie for the top cash prize of PHP 100,000 and an op­por­tu­nity to un­dergo an ex­clu­sive im­mer­sion ex­pe­ri­ence at the Asus head­quar­ters in tai­wan. the teams are: Ar­botics from Que­zon City, team stu­dio 3 from Makati City, team Imag­in­ear also from Que­zon City, team MB from De La salle univer­sity in taft, team semi­colon sti global City, and team Dark Fire from Cebu City.

the teams were chal­lenged to cre­ate AR and VR ap­pli­ca­tions spe­cially made for the newly launched Zen­fone AR and are de­signed to solve key prob­lems in the Philip­pines. team Ar­botics, a group of up Dil­i­man stu­dents and Haraya Vr/di­wata-1 engi­neers from Que­zon City and Navotas City bagged the 1st place with their ap­pli­ca­tion called “AR/ER.” Learn more about this on
