DICT, Kasper­sky Lab host 1st Cy­ber­se­cu­rity Sum­mit in ph

Kasper­sky Lab, in co­op­er­a­tion with the Depart­ment of Com­mu­ni­ca­tion and In­for­ma­tion Tech­nol­ogy (DICT), held its first-ever cy­ber­se­cu­rity sum­mit in the philip­pines to jump-start the col­lab­o­ra­tion of the two en­ti­ties in help­ing the lo­cal busi­ness sec­tor un­der­stand, eval­u­ate, and strengthen their cy­ber­se­cu­rity poli­cies. Dubbed “Cy­ber­se­cu­rity Sum­mit 2017”, the con­fer­ence pro­moted the shar­ing of in­tel­li­gence and tech­nol­ogy be­tween pub­lic and pri­vate sec­tors to bet­ter com­bat the es­ca­lat­ing num­ber of cy­ber­at­tacks against busi­nesses in the coun­try.

For the first time, Kasper­sky Lab’s top se­cu­rity an­a­lyst in Asia Pa­cific set foot in the philip­pines to pro­vide an over­view of the lo­cal threat land­scape. Vi­taly Kam­luk, Di­rec­tor of the Global re­search and Anal­y­sis team (Great) at Kasper­sky Lab APAC, ze­roed in on or­ga­nized cy­ber­at­tacks tar­get­ing the philip­pines. At the same event, the DICT for­mally un­veiled its depart­ment or­der which is crit­i­cal to the im­ple­men­ta­tion of the Na­tional Cy­ber­se­cu­rity plan 2022 (NCSP) and will en­sure the pro­tec­tion of gov­ern­ment net­works, crit­i­cal in­fra­struc­tures, and in­di­vid­u­als.
