Fol­low­ing the suc­cess of John Her­rera’s Aguila-in­spired col­lec­tion printed us­ing ep­son’s tex­tile print­ers which granted Her­rera the Bri­tain’s Top De­signer 2017 award, the two once again col­lab­o­rated for a 30-piece col­lec­tion dubbed as “Ar­mada,” which ac­cord­ing to John Her­rera, was de­rived from the map cre­ated by Diogo ribeiro de­pict­ing the world in 1529, the first world map in his­tory to in­clude the Philip­pine is­lands. De­tails re­lated to king Philip ii of Spain were also in­te­grated into the de­sign to fur­ther em­pha­size a his­toric look em­bod­ied on com­bined hues of sepia and brown. The in­tri­cate de­sign of the col­lec­tion was trans­ferred to fab­ric us­ing the ep­son Sure­color F9200 printer which uti­lizes the dye-sub­li­ma­tion trans­fer process and ep­son Pre­ci­sion­core print­head tech­nol­ogy with print­ing speeds of up to 1,044 square feet per hour and widths of up to 64 inches.
