OPPO Philippines has welcomed the year 2018 with its latest offering, the OPPO A83. The smartphone is known as the fourth member of the A.I. Beauty and Full Screen technology of Chinese smartphone company.

The A83 features a 5.7-inch full screen display with 18:9 body ratio. Its full screen display gave us an immersive view of our photos taken, and the episodes of the K-dramas we love. The A83 sports a sleek body and curved bezels that is easy on the hand.

Similar to the F5, the A83 has the brand’s A.I. Beauty technology. Its 8-megapixel front camera can deliver clear and nice selfies. It’s depth effect or commonly known as the bokeh effect gave more depth to our selfies, putting more emphasis on our faces. We even played with the smartphone’s built-in filters that all work perfectly with A83’s front camera. It’s fun to note that OPPO A83’s “palm” option have let our team take selfies after the count of three seconds by just racing one palm in the air. It made groufies without selfie sticks or tripod, the easiest. Its 13-megapixel rear camera gave us natural photos. A83’s rear camera has the “easy zoom-in” option by simply tapping the “2x” on the screen. This option was perfect for our team to easily capture moments from a distance. The rear camera, just the same with the latest offerings from OPPO has an expert option wherein our team were able to adjust the camera settings according to our own preference. Powered by Color OS 3.2 with Android 7.1, Mediatek MT6763T, and 3GB RAM, the A83 was able to handle simultaneous launches of applications such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat. A83’s 32GB internal storage, expandable up to 256GB, was enough for our apps downloads, K-drama episode files, and movies.

A83’s speakers sit on the bottom of it in grille form. Cranking up to its highest volume, the A83 was able to give a good sound without any distortion. However, the A83 is not that loud even up to the 100% volume. Our team did not have any problems with setting-up the facial unlock.

Our team tested the OPPO A83’s stamina by running our battery test on it. After filling up its juice with 100%, we played a loop video of a movie trailer with ful brightness and volume, and Wi-fi, Bluetooth, and mobile data enabled. The A83 was able to stand for a whopping 14 hours and 30 minutes. This is an amazing smartphone for its battery life. We also ran Antutu Benchmark on the A83 and it got a score of 59373.

A midrange handset, the OPPO A83 is now available in the Philippines for the price of PHP 9,990.
