Filipino singer impresses ‘X Factor UK’ judges
FILIPINO singer Ivy Grace Paredes, 33, impressed all four judges of The X Factor UK with her rendition of Whitney Houston’s All the Man I Need in the sixth episode of the show. On camera before she belted out her version of the hit song, she said that she was inspired to join the competition after seeing Filipino singing quartet 4th Impact do well on the show last year.
“She just sang our faces off, pretty much,” remarked Nicole Scherzinger, who shared the sentiment with cojudges Louis Walsh, Simon Cowell and Sharon Osbourne. They gave her four “yes” votes.
A native of Malaybalay, Bukidon, Ivy Grace tearfully said that she chose to join The X Factor UK because of her daughter. “For me, I believe this is the biggest competition and I want to be a part of [The X Factor]... this is all for my daughter.” Ivy Grace’s two-and-a-half-year-old child is under the care of her parents in the Philippines.
The contestant moves on to the next round of The X Factor UK.
The reality competition airs exclusively on RTL CBS Entertainment, on the same day as the UK, every Sunday and Monday at 10:30 a.m. Primetime encores air on Sundays, Mondays and Thursdays at 9 p.m.
