Bea Alonzo slams negativity on social media

Inquirer Libre - Davao - - SHOW BUZZ - By Mary Ann Bautista Contributor

LIKE many Pinoys, Bea Alonzo loves taking photos and selfies. But, if there’s one thing she despises about Filipinos’ fascination for snapshots and instant online engagement, it’s the cynical vibe that predominates in social networking sites these days.

In fact, Bea doesn’t even have a Facebook account

“I’m not on Facebook, because I want my friends to see me face-to-face. But, I have an Instagram account, where I follow foodies, street-style fashionistas and interior designers,” , she told Inquirer Entertainment on Aug. 19 when she was launched as the latest brand ambassador of Asus Zenfone 4 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.

Here’s why she isn’t much into social media:

“I don’t like all the negativity. Moreover, it takes a lot of responsibility to have so many followers (she has 3.1 million followers on Instagram), so I have to be careful with what I post. I enjoy the spur-of-the-moment spontaneity of taking selfies and candid photos.”

These days, Bea draws inspiration from her work. She’s currently seen in the TV series,

A Love to Last, opposite Ian Veneracion. “I draw inspiration from work especially when I’m surrounded by people I like. ”

Her tips on staying beautiful: “I have two: Inner peace and knowing myself. Always make it a point to feel good about yourself. Share love and happiness para ’yon din ang bumalik sa ‘yo.”

What are the top moments she wants to capture in her photos? “I want to meet Gong Yoo (“Train to Busan,” “Goblin”) and take a selfie with him,” Bea beamed as she replied. “I also want to capture my fans’ reactions to the webisodes of a special show they’ll soon see me in. I take a lot of photos when I travel to my favorite destinations. And I want my photos to reflect how I feel every time I wake up in the morning: I’m thankful for the blessings that come my way.”
