Malou Fores´

Let’s Eat - - LETS EAT - WORDS BY SPANKY HIZON ENRIQUEZ PORTRAIT BY GABBY CANTERO

The adoring public considers her as one of their favorite chefs, and in the F&B industry, she’s highly respected as one of the most astute restaurateurs in the business. From afar and early on, that was my impression too. But when I got to know Malou Forés a few years ago, one of the first things she told me is that she’s neither. She’s really just a mom who loves to eat, and second, loves to cook for her child. She’s not a chef; one day just over a decade ago, she decided to share what she prepared at home on a daily basis, with the rest of us. How lucky are we? Malou has an impeccable palate, intrinsic creativity, and an innate, invaluable skill: she instinctively knows what we all love to eat, and she lovingly serves it to us. That’s why keep coming back to Mamou. It’s like coming home every time.
