Makati denizens share on how they pay it forward
Makati denizens get into the season of giving by sharing how they plan to pay their blessings forward.
MARYBELLE MANUEL, Shopper "This year I pay it forward through charitable works, by simply doing good deeds to others each day."
ANDRE MIKAEL L. DY, MBA Student from AIM Center for Development Management “My family and I buy food and drive around in my hometown, as well as other areas in Metro Manila, and give food to people who are begging on the streets. Also, we donate our old clothes and things that take up space at home to an NGO, or bring them to a foundation so we can give it to people who can use them.”
LOUELLA LENORE L. JACINTO, MBA Student from AIM Center for Development Management “During [the] Christmas season, we coordinate with an NGO and then we hold a Christmas party for children. We'll be doing the same this year because it's sort of a tradition already, so that's what we'll be taking part in. With my family, we go to public hospitals and donate toys to children with cancer.”
ERMAN CASQUEJO, Call Center Agent at Convergys Makati “I share my blessings with the people who need help in Luneta park, because at the lowest point of my life, I was homeless and it was the place I could sleep in. I now give my extra money to them, trying to give them a sense of comfort to those who took care of me when I was there.”
GJ JIMENEZ, Banapple Owner, "In tandem with Mayor Junjun Binay and Ms. Marjorie De Veyra of the Makati Social Welfare Department, Banapple will be giving out Noche Buena packs to 100 families in Makati. These Noche Buena packs will contain Christmas fare like Quezo De Bola, as well as pasta and pastries."
