7.6 tons of cocaine worth USS400-M seized
MOSCOW (PNA/Sputnik) – Bolivian enforcement troops have seized almost 7.6 tons of cocaine worth USD379 million in a raid, the country’s Interior Minister Carlos Romero said on Monday. As Bolivian legislation allows coca leaf cultivation which is deemed a part of indigenous culture, Bolivia remains the third largest producer of coca behind Colombia and Peru. “The main thing in the operation is that we prevented distribution of illicit substances in form of 7.58 tons of pure cocaine hydrochloride,” Romero said, as quoted by ABI news agency, adding that estimated value of seized drugs amounted to USD379 million.
