Iloilo cre­ates road safety task force

ILOILO CITY — Iloilo Governor Arthur De­fen­sor Sr. has cre­ated the Pro­vin­cial Task Force on Road Safety to curb road ac­ci­dents.

In a Jan­uary 9 ex­ec­u­tive or­der, De­fen­sor de­fined the du­ties and re­spon­si­bil­i­ties of the in­ter-agency task force.

Iloilo Pro­vin­cial Administrator Raul Ba­nias said road ac­ci­dents kill more peo­ple than dengue.

De­fen­sor said the task force will strictly en­force ex­ist­ing laws with the co­op­er­a­tion of the public and pri­vate sec­tors. Rep­re­sented in the task force are

the re­gional of­fices of the Land Trans­porta­tion Of­fice (LTO), Land Trans­porta­tion Fran­chis­ing and Reg­u­la­tory Board (LTFRB), Depart­ment of Public Works and High­ways (DPWH), the Iloilo Po­lice Pro­vin­cial Of­fice (IPPO), the High­way Pa­trol Group of the Philip­pine Na­tional Po­lice (PNP), jeep­ney and taxi as­so­ci­a­tions, and state col­leges and uni­ver­si­ties.
