CaféFrance and Ra­cal have been in­stalled as ti­tle fa­vorites af­ter beef­ing up their re­spec­tive ros­ters in time for the PBA D-League As­pi­rants’ Cup which starts on Jan. 19 at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

Ach­ing to re­bound from last year’s loss to Phoenix in the fi­nals of the same con­fer­ence, CaféFrance signed UAAP Myth­i­cal Five mem­ber Paul Desiderio of Univer­sity of the Philip­pines, San Se­bas­tian’s Michael Cal­isaan and Univer­sity of Santo To­mas’ Jeepy Faundo.

The three will join forces with Cen­tro Es­co­lar Univer­sity stand­outs Rod Ebondo, Aaron Jeruta and JK Casino as the Bak­ers seek their sec­ond ti­tle since join­ing the league in its in­au­gu­ral sea­son in 2011.

Ra­cal, un­der new coach Jerry Codiñera will have his Arel­lano play­ers on his ros­ter in Lervin Flores, Kent Sal­ado, and Don­ald Gu­maru.

Alaska’s Calvin Abueva cel­e­brates af­ter the Aces beat the Star Hot­shots in over­time, 97-90, in their PBA Philip­pine Cup game at the Smart Araneta Coli­seum. Abueva fin­ished with 23 points and nine re­bounds for the Aces. (Rio Delu­vio)
