3 killed in Caloocan, Pasay drug busts
At least three people were killed in police operations against drug dealers in Caloocan and Pasay cities Thursday night and early Friday morning.
In Tala, Caloocan, police shot and killed two alleged notorious drug peddlers and arrested six other drug personalities during a drug bust at 8:20 p.m. Thursday .
The fatalities were identified as Michael Bang-as and Carlito Grande. Arrested were Felipe Panis Urbano, Sammy Balagtas, Dennis “Balong” Zulueta, Edison Ebale, Rodolfo Medina, and John Clifford Tekwiko.
A team from the Northern Police District (NPD) went to the house on Sampaguita Street in Barrio Conception, Tala, believed to be used as a drug den.
Supt. Ali Duterte, NPD Special Operations Unit head, said an undercover officer pretended to buy drugs from Bang-as and Grande.
When the rest of the team announced the bust, the two resisted arrested and traded shots with the policemen.
Bang-as and Grande were killed in the exchange of fire, Duterte said.
Bang-as and Grande were said to have rented the house from Urbano and turned it into a drug den.
In a similar bust in Pasay about seven hours later, an ex-convict, Jayson Reuyan, was shot dead by policemen near a creek along BAC 1 Don Carlos Village.
Sr. Supt. Lawrence Coop, Pasay police chief, said the Southern Police District-Anti Illegal Drugs Group had identified Reuyan as a drug dealer.
