In line with its thrust to protect all Filipino learners, the Department of Education (DepEd) reminded school adminsitrators and perosnnel to adhere to the Anti-Bullying policy. Education Secretary Leonor Briones, in DepEd memorandum no. 5 series of 2017, urged all regional directors, schools division superintendents, and school heads of both public and private elementary and secondary schools to “emphasize the strict implementation and adoption” of the DepEd Anti-Bullying Policy. “Strict compliance with this policy is imposed,” Briones said. She also noted that “sanctions for noncompliance of private and public schools or school personnel” are also stated in DO No. 55 s. 2013. (Merlina Hernando – Malipot)
