An­tipolo saves 200 from drugs

AN­TIPOLO CITY, Rizal — The com­mu­ni­ty­based rehabilitation pro­gram crafted by the city govern­ment for the former drug users who sur­ren­dered has started to pay off as the pro­gram has grad­u­ated 200 from one of the barangays in the city re­cently. Mayor Casimiro “Jun­jun” Ynares III, said the rehabilitation pro­gram, “Tayo Na Kon­tra Droga” has pro­duced 200 grad­u­ates who are former drug de­pen­dents from Barangay San Luis in this city. The sur­ren­der­ers have un­der­gone 12 weeks of com­mu­nity based pro­gram since Septem­ber 25 with the pro­gram par­tic­i­pants join­ing spir­i­tual re­newal ac­tiv­i­ties; zumba dance ses­sions; army dozen ex­er­cises; detox­i­fi­ca­tion; and tree plant­ing in the com­mu­nity.
