Local stocks fall slightly
Local stocks fell for the third straight day yesterday due to continued profit-taking by investors, and the negative sentiment from the downtrend overnight in Wall Street that pulled down the Asian markets. The benchmark Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) finished 26.03 points or 0.38 percent lower at 7,238.52. The wider All-Shares index likewise lost 19.15 points or 0.44 percent t end the week at 4,360.83. Trading volume remained moderate with 1.43 billion shares, valued at R5.38 billion, changing hands. Decliners edged gainers, 114-87, with 55 issues unchanged.
