1,500 pine tree seedlings planted

BUTUAN CITY –About 1,500 seedlings of “Agoho” or pine tree were planted along the national highway of Diegas area in Basilisa town of the Province of Dinagat Islands (PDI) recently. The provincial government of PDI, national line agencies, civil society organizati­on, cooperativ­es, and people’s organizati­on joined hands in a series of tree planting activities in honor of the Internatio­nal Day of Forest every March, which coincided with the Greening Community program of dubbed “Verde Dinagat Highway,” a flagship program of the provincial government. In a similar activity last week, the same group also conducted tree planting of “Agoho” trees in the municipali­ties of Basilisa, Cagdianao, Dinagat, Libjo, and San Jose. (Mike U. Crismundo)
