- By JEAN FERNANDO

Two men riding in tandem in a motorcycle were killed during an encounter with the patrolling mobile cars of the Parañaque City police Monday night.

One of the victims was identified only as Jong, said to be listed in the Parañaque City police drug watch list; the other man remains unidentified. The bodies of the suspects were brought to the People’s Funeral Homes.

Sr. Supt. Jemar Modequillo, Parañaque City police chief, said the incident happened at about 10:50 p.m. along Sitio Sto. Niño, Greenhills, Barangay San Dionisio, Parañaque City.

Modequillo said that prior to the encounter, members of the Police Community Precinct (PCP-4) were conducting routine patrol when a concerned citizen called up and reported that “Jong” was sighted at the given place.

He said that members of the PCP-4 immediately responded and tried to arrest “Jong” and his companion in a motorcycle.

The police chief said that the suspects, instead of surrendering peacefully, sped off going to the direction of Olivarez Compound but were blocked by another patrolling mobile car.

Modequillo said that “Jong” with drawn firearm alighted from the motorcycle and fired at the responding policemen forcing the latter to return fire.

Found from the crime scene were one .22 caliber with 7 live ammunition and one fired cartridge, one .38 caliber revolver with three live ammunitions, 12 sachets of suspected shabu, one weighing scale, one aluminum foil, and seven empty shells of 9mm pistol.
