Bataan, Olon­gapo jails rid of drugs

Jails in Bataan and Olon­gapo City are rid of drugs and not a sin­gle Bu­reau of Jail Man­age­ment and Penol­o­goly (BJMP) per­son­nel in these ar­eas are in­volved in the il­le­gal trade. This was the as­sur­ance given yes­ter­day by Jail Su­per­in­ten­dents An­drew Tauli and Clarence Mayan­gao, of Bataan and Olon­gapo, re­spec­tively, as the BJMP saw a change of com­mand from Di­rec­tor Ser­afin Bar­retto to new BJMP Di­rec­tor Deogra­cias C. Ta­payan. Bar­retto reached the manda­tory age of re­tire­ment last Mon­day. Ta­payan ad­mit­ted that there are a num­ber of BJMP per­son­nel (not in Bataan and Olon­gapo) who are in­volved in il­le­gal drugs, but they will be weeded out of the or­ga­ni­za­tion. (Mar T.
