7 CL cops facing KFR raps jailed
3 others charged with shooting Muslim boy
CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — Seven members of the Angeles City Police Station earlier sacked by Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Ronald dela Rosa for allegedly kidnapping three Koreans in December, 2016, have been jailed upon the order of the court.
Meanwhile, three other Angeles City police officers involved in the near-fatal shooting of a 16-year-old Muslim boy in Barangay Balibago last October 4 have been relieved of their posts as they now face a frustrated murder charge.
Senior Superintendent Enrico H. Vargas, city police chief, said that upon order of Angeles City Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 58 Judge Irineo Pangilinan Jr. joint police operatives arrested dismissed cops Roentjen Domingo of the City of San Fernando; Jose Yumul Jr. of Mabalacat; Rommel Manicdao of Magalang; and Ruben Rodriguez, Jayson Ibe, Mark Joseph Pineda, and Richard King Agapito, all of Angeles City.
They are all charged with kidnap-for-ransom (KFR), robbery in band, and extortion. No bail is recommended for their temporary release.
On the other hand, Chief Supt. Amador Corpus, Police Regional Office 3 director, ordered the relief of Police Officers 1 Aizel Deanne Marie Lopez and Osmond Rivera, and Chief Insp. Dante Cabungcal, all members of the Angeles City Police Station 4 for the near-fatal shooting of Salman Macal.
They now face charges of frustrated murder, violation of the law that protects minors, perjury, planting of evidence, and incriminating an innocent person before the City Prosecutor’s Office and have been placed under restrictive custody of the Police Station 4.
