Cavite cops kill resort rob suspect
CAMP GARCIA, Cavite — A robbery suspect was killed by police in a shootout before dawn yesterday in Barangay Amuyong in the upland municipality of Alfonso.
The still unidentified suspect died on the spot from bullet wounds in the body.
Senior Superintendent William M. Segun, Cavite Police Provincial Office director, said that the suspect was one of a group of men who broke and robbed the units at Secret Garden Resort, also in Amuyong, before noon Wednesday.
The group entered the units by scaling the resort's iron fence.
Segun said that the suspect and his group resisted a local police dragnet put up for them in Amuyong at 3 a.m. Thursday.
The police team was forced to shoot the suspect when he fired his gun during the pursuit. The suspect’s companions escaped.
Recovered from the slain suspect were a .38 cal. revolver, R15,000 cash, several communication gadgets, a handbag, perfume, room keys and other personal belongings which were believed taken from the resort 's units.
