BU­TUAN CITY – Farm­ers and vil­lagers in far-flung ar­eas in Suri­gao del Norte town are ex­pected to ben­e­fit from an P81mil­lion con­creted farm-to-mar­ket road (FMR) when it is com­pleted, this was bared yes­ter­day by Re­gional Spokesper­son Em­my­lou T. Pre­silda of the De­part­ment of Agri­cul­ture. She said the ground break­ing of the DA-Philip­pine Ru­ral De­vel­op­ment Project (PRDP) Badas Tres De Mayo-Amoslog FMR con­cret­ing in Placer town, Suri­gao del Norte, was re­cently of­fi­ci­ated by the of­fi­cials of the agency. The ground­break­ing ac­tiv­ity and the pre-con­struc­tion con­fer­ence was also par­tic­i­pated by the lo­cal of­fi­cials of Placer, of­fi­cials of the three barangays in­clud­ing its res­i­dents. The to­tal bud­get for the FMR project will be com­posed of 10 per­cent eq­uity or coun­ter­part from the mu­nic­i­pal or pro­vin­cial lo­cal gov­ern­ment unit, 10 per­cent from the Philip­pine gov­ern­ment, and 80 per­cent from the World Bank.
