NPAs sur­ren­der

BUTUAN CITY – Two al­leged New Peo­ple’s Army (NPA) commanders and nine other guerilla rebels re­cently sur­ren­dered to field units of the Army’s 25th In­fantry Bat­tal­lion (25th IB) in Com­postela Val­ley (ComVal) prov­ince, ac­cord­ing to Capt. Jerry S. Lamosao, spokesper­son of the Army’s South­ern Min­danao 10th In­fantry (Agila) Divi­sion (10th ID). In a phone in­ter­view with The Manila Bul­letin on Satur­day, Lamosao dis­closed that those who sur­ren­dered be­longed to the down­graded NPA’s Guerilla Front 33 (GF 33). Iden­ti­ties of the two guerilla commanders and the nine other NPA rebels were tem­po­rar­ily with­held for their safety and se­cu­rity. Lamosao said they yielded last week in undis­closed area in Monkayo town last week, and also turned in their firearms and other ex­plo­sive de­vices. (Mike U. Cris­mundo)
