DRUG DEN OWNER, 5 OTHERS NABBED IN SULTAN KUDARAT

A DRUG den owner under a police watch list and five alleged drug users were arrested in a raid in Barangay Kalawag I, Isulan town in Sultan Kudarat. Director General Isidro Lapeña, Philippine Drug Enforcemen­t Agency ( PDEA) chief, identified the drug den owner as Pryce Christian Valdez, 30, a former teacher in a technical- vocational school in Tacurong City. Also arrested were Christian Christophe­r Valdez, 31; Rogen Martinez, 23; Darwin Agravante, 21; Emerald Jane Lorilla, 21; and Jenny Rose Parañaque, 19, who were at the den during the raid. Seized from the suspects were .5 gram dried marijuana leaves, empty plastic sachets with shabu residue, drug parapherna­lia, one cal. 22 revolver, one cal. 40 Para Ordnance pistol and several pieces of ammunition­s for various gun calibers.

7 CALABARZON POLICE UNDERGO DRUG PROBE

Camp Vicente Lim, Laguna: Seven members of the Police Regional Office in Calabarzon area (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon) have been found positive for illegal drugs. Senior Supt. Chitadel Gaoiran, Calabarzon spokesman, said the policemen will be discharged from the service and their benefits forfeited if they are found guilty of the charges to be filed against them. During the surprise drug test, 12 policemen tested positive-- five from Cavite, two from Laguna, three from Batangas and one each are from Rizal and Quezon. Being investigat­ed are Senior Police Officers and Police Officers 1.

P8- M ‘ WEED’ PLANTATION BURNED IN IFUGAO

CAMP DANGWA, La Trinidad, Benguet: Ifugao police overran a plantation and burned some P8 million worth of marijuana in sitio Lukutan, Ahin, Tinoc in Ifugao recently. Uprooted were 40,000 fully grown marijuana plants grown on the 10,000 square meter plantation. No owner or planter was caught. The marijuana haul in Ifugao was the first ever after the Duterte administra­tion launched its drive against illegal drugs. Authoritie­s in the past discovered marijuana plantation­s in Tinoc.
