111 LANDLESS FAMILIES IN MANILA GET LAND CERTIFICATES
MANILA Mayor Joseph Estrada handed over land certificates to 111 informal settler families in Paco on the 4,892.90 square- kilometer property formerly owned by the Philippine Columbian on Wednesday. “The new land owners of Canonigo Estate may now call themselves true owner of the lot,” Estrada said, as he personally awarded the families copies of City Tenants Security Committee ( CTSC). Under the project, Land for the Landless Program, the awardees are given 20 to 30 years to pay for the lots at affordable rates. Urban housing has been Estrada’s top priority since 2013 in cooperation with the National Housing Authority and other concerned government agencies.
