Ceres Ne­gros FC Youth braces for Singa Cup

CERES Ne­gros FC Youth will see ac­tion in Sin­ga­pore’s premier in­ter­na­tional youth foot­ball tour­na­ment ti­tled 2018 Singa Cup slated Novem­ber 3 to 9.

“We are glad to an­nounce that we will be send­ing our U8, U12, and U18 teams to Singa Cup this year,” reads the team an­nounce­ment on its of­fi­cial Face­book page.

The youth acad­emy of back­to­back Philip­pines Foot­ball League cham­pion Ceres Ne­gros FC will join the 7- a- side Un­der- 8 age group con­test that will be held on Novem­ber 3 and 4.

The Ne­grense club is also eye­ing to join the 11- a- side Un­der12 divi­sion on Novem­ber 5 to 8 and the 11- a- side Un­der- 18 cat­e­gory on Novem­ber 7 to 9.

Or­ga­nized by Dy­namique Konzepts, the Singa Cup aims to show­case tal­ents from Asia and de­velop ca­ma­raderie among the par­tic­i­pants.

The maiden edi­tion was launched in 2011 with 12 squads from the Philip­pines, Aus­tralia, In­dia and Sin­ga­pore. The 2017 Singa Cup fea­tured 60 schools and foot­ball academies from seven coun­tries.

Last year, the Philip­pines sent eight clubs to the tour­ney, namely Ate­neo De Manila Univer­sity, Great Oak Manor, Ilonggo Young Boot­ers Foot­ball Club, JPV Malaya Foot­ball Acad­emy, Miriam Col­lege High School, RC Tanauan Labuyo Foot­ball Acad­emy and Rovers Foot­ball Club Davao.
