New Roxas hospital opens
Medical services are now closer to the people of Roxas town as it opened Friday in Barangay New Barbacan.
Tuloy-tuloy na ito,” Governor Jose Alvarez said during the inauguration of the P144 million, 70- door bed capacity medical facility.
Alvarez said people living near Roxas can also avail of the free hospital through the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth).
The new hospital has 65 different types of equipment, including a delivery table, a biomedical refrigerator, arterial blood gas, incubators, thoracostomy set, and newborn screening tests.
It also has a doctor’s quarters, elevated water tank, mortuary, and a sewage treatment plan.
Dr. Mario Baquilod, MIMAROPA regional health director said the medical staff should “al-
ways provide the best medical services to patients and show them respect as they are one of the important components of the health facility.”
Roxas Mayor Maria Angela Sabando thanked the provincial government and the DOH for the new hospital in their town.
The provincial government with assistance from the DOH earlier inaugurated new hospitals in Aborlan and Narra towns and rehabilitated the Southern Palawan Provincial Hospital (SPPH) in Brooke’s Point.
