The Provincial Veterinary Office (ProVet) recently held a forum on rabies in two barangays in Roxas town to step up its campaign against the spread of the virus.

The forum held on September 19 in Barangays Taradungan and Tagumpay is part of the ProVet’s information dissemination campaign in preventing the deadly spread of the animal infection.

Dr. Darius Mangcucang, veterinarian I of the ProVet, said it was aimed at also informing barangay officials that they have responsibilities in keeping residents safe from rabies-infected animals.

ProVet is encouraging barangay officials to tell residents who have pets to have them vaccinated against rabies to prevent its spread in their areas, he said.
