Capitol distributes solar units in Bataraza villages
The Palawan provincial government recently distributed 4,573 solar home system units ( SHS) to 22 off - grid villages in Bataraza town as part of its barangay electrification project.
The SHS units were distributed to qualified beneficiaries in Bono- Bono, Bulalacao, Buliluyan, Culandanum, Igang- Igang, Inogbong, Malihud, Ocayan, Puring, Rio Tuba, Sandoval, Sapa, Sumbiling, Tabud, Tagnato, Tagolango, Taratak, and Tarusan, Engr. Ricardo Rodriguez, executive assistant for the Energy Development Plan- Barangay Electrification Project ( EDP- BED).
The distribution is part of the Palawan Energy Development Plan 2015- 2035 of the provincial government.
Rodriguez said the units all have two years warranty and provided free by the provincial government to energize villages in the off- grid areas.
“Bago ipamigay ang pailaw ay nagkakaroon ng orientation para malaman kung papaano gamitin ng tama ng mga magiging benepisyaryo ang mga solar units,” he said.
More distributions is planned for Barangays Marangays, Malitub, Sarong, and Iwahig, he said.
Rodriguez said targetted beneficiaries will undergo validation.
“Ang pagpili ng mga benepisaryo ay base sa na- approve ni Gob. JCA ( Jose Ch. Alvarez) sa isinagawang survey ng PPDO ( Provincial Planning and Development Office) at na verify din namin kasi baka may nakasama na nabigyan na,” he added.
Earlier, the EDP also distributed 1,717 SHS units in Brooke’s Point in Amas, Barong- Barong, Maasin, Malis, Salogon, Samariniana, and Saraza.
Some of the beneficiaries of the Solar Home System (SHS) units distributed on the second week of September by the Energy Development Plan-Barangay Electrification Project (EDP-BED) of the provincial government.
