Capi­tol dis­trib­utes so­lar units in Bataraza vil­lages

The Palawan pro­vin­cial govern­ment re­cently dis­trib­uted 4,573 so­lar home sys­tem units ( SHS) to 22 off - grid vil­lages in Bataraza town as part of its barangay elec­tri­fi­ca­tion project.

The SHS units were dis­trib­uted to qual­i­fied ben­e­fi­cia­ries in Bono- Bono, Bu­lala­cao, Buliluyan, Cu­lan­danum, Igang- Igang, Inog­bong, Mal­i­hud, Ocayan, Pur­ing, Rio Tuba, San­doval, Sapa, Sum­bil­ing, Tabud, Tag­nato, Tagolango, Taratak, and Taru­san, Engr. Ri­cardo Ro­driguez, ex­ec­u­tive as­sis­tant for the En­ergy De­vel­op­ment Plan- Barangay Elec­tri­fi­ca­tion Project ( EDP- BED).

The dis­tri­bu­tion is part of the Palawan En­ergy De­vel­op­ment Plan 2015- 2035 of the pro­vin­cial govern­ment.

Ro­driguez said the units all have two years war­ranty and pro­vided free by the pro­vin­cial govern­ment to en­er­gize vil­lages in the off- grid ar­eas.

“Bago ipami­gay ang pailaw ay nagkaka­roon ng ori­en­ta­tion para mala­man kung pa­paano gamitin ng tama ng mga magig­ing benepisyaryo ang mga so­lar units,” he said.

More dis­tri­bu­tions is planned for Barangays Marangays, Mal­i­tub, Sarong, and Iwahig, he said.

Ro­driguez said tar­get­ted ben­e­fi­cia­ries will un­dergo val­i­da­tion.

“Ang pag­pili ng mga benepis­aryo ay base sa na- ap­prove ni Gob. JCA ( Jose Ch. Al­varez) sa isi­na­gawang sur­vey ng PPDO ( Pro­vin­cial Plan­ning and De­vel­op­ment Of­fice) at na ver­ify din namin kasi baka may nakasama na nabi­gyan na,” he added.

Ear­lier, the EDP also dis­trib­uted 1,717 SHS units in Brooke’s Point in Amas, Barong- Barong, Maasin, Malis, Sal­o­gon, Sa­marini­ana, and Saraza.
