Inflation for vegetables likely slowed to 4.7 percent from 8.1 percent, Beltran said, as he noted a decline in the electricity rates last May.

“Inflation decline will give policymakers adequate room for maneuver to sustain rapid economic growth in the face of another possible adjustment in the Fed rate in June,” Beltran said.

Gross domestic product grew 6.4 percent in the first three months of the year, slower than most forecasts, but still among the fastest in Asia, next only to China. ( News)
