Sus­pect in plaza slays con­ceal true iden­tity

ILOILO City – The sus­pect ar­rested for the death of a Mus­lim trader and his son at the pub­lic plaza of Man­dur­riao district on Sun­day con­cealed to the po­lice his real name.

He was ac­tu­ally 18-year- old Jay-R Muana of Barangay Mam­ba­ga­ton, Hi­ma­may­lan City, Ne­gros Oc­ci­den­tal, said Chief In­spec­tor Juvy Navales of the Man­dur­riao po­lice sta­tion.

Muana ini­tially iden­ti­fied him­self as 19- year- old Mark Ganava of Barangay Mam­ba­ga­ton, Hi­ma­may­lan City

Yes­ter­day, the par­ents of Ganava in Hi­ma­may­lan con­tacted the Man­dur­riao po­lice sta­tion to set the record straight, said Navales.

Muana, con­fronted by his trick­ery, con­fessed his true iden­tity, ac­cord­ing to the po­lice of­fi­cial.

He also ad­mit­ted ham­mer­ing to death 29-year- old Mua­mar Dit­ingki and five- month-old son Mo­hamed, said Navales.

Muana, who ini­tially de­nied the crime, said he wanted to get back at Dit­ingki for chid­ing him a few days ago.
