Suspect in plaza slays conceal true identity
ILOILO City – The suspect arrested for the death of a Muslim trader and his son at the public plaza of Mandurriao district on Sunday concealed to the police his real name.
He was actually 18-year- old Jay-R Muana of Barangay Mambagaton, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental, said Chief Inspector Juvy Navales of the Mandurriao police station.
Muana initially identified himself as 19- year- old Mark Ganava of Barangay Mambagaton, Himamaylan City
Yesterday, the parents of Ganava in Himamaylan contacted the Mandurriao police station to set the record straight, said Navales.
Muana, confronted by his trickery, confessed his true identity, according to the police official.
He also admitted hammering to death 29-year- old Muamar Ditingki and five- month-old son Mohamed, said Navales.
Muana, who initially denied the crime, said he wanted to get back at Ditingki for chiding him a few days ago.

He has confessed to the killing of a father and son at the public plaza of Mandurriao, Iloilo City on Oct. 22, 2017. Muana previously identified himself as somebody else and denied a hand in the crime.
