Importance of writing and its appropriate uses

Panay News - - MAJOR STORIES -  By Remie B. Villanueva,

THROUGH writing, we are able to express our thoughts.

With the help of writing, we are able to develop the habit of thinking deeply before expressing something because it is harder to retract what we have written than what we have said.

It also gives us an opportunity to develop the ability to compose ideas and organize thoughts and arguments well because we are able to review the thoughts we have expressed by reading what we have written for any errors in grammar or vocabulary, as well as check the spelling and double check information like inaccuracies and missing details.

Being able to express what is needed through writing will help people succeed in their studies in college and graduate school because of the theses or feasibility studies that must be done.

We are now also in the digital age; this allows

Pres. Roxas, Capiz us to communicate through emails or chat messages because calling through the phone could become difficult if the signal is insufficient and the voice you hear becomes choppy. Calls can also be interrupted due to poor internet connection.

We need to distinguish when is the right time to use the creative kind of writing and the right time to use the academic kind of writing.

Creative writing allows us to use words that are descriptive and hifalutin. It also allows us to use opinions a little bit to express thoughts or to tell a story. It allows us to express things in a way that it would sound like ourselves when we speak. It is also not as strict as academic writing when it comes to things like sward speak, internet lingo, and other informal types of language.
