Odion­gan mayor dies

MAYOR Baltazar “Boy” Fir­malo of Odion­gan, the most pro­gres­sive mu­nic­i­pal­ity of Romblon province, died early Wed­nes­day. He was 66.

Baltazar, son of for­mer Odion­gan mayor Al­fonso Fir­malo and a cousin of in­cum­bent Romblon Gov. Ed­uardo Fir­malo, was brought Tues­day night to the pro­vin­cial hos­pi­tal due to high blood pres­sure and died around 2:35 a.m. Wed­nes­day, the gover­nor’s daugh­ter and chief of staff, Trina Fir­malo, said in a text mes­sage to the IN­QUIRER.

The mayor, who was on his third and last term, is sur­vived by his wife Fe and their four chil­dren.

De­tails of his wake and in­ter­ment have yet to be an­nounced by the fam­ily.
