Foton opens new dealership in Camarines Sur

- By Alvin Uy

Foton Philippines continues to aggressively expand into the local market.

After groundbreaking five dealerships last April, Foton opened a new dealership in Camarines Sur last July 17.

As the country’s largest Chinese commercial and passenger vehicle brand, it now has a network of 23 dealerships and three Foton Gratour sales outlets as it continues to work on its dealer network expansion.

Gratour is a 7-seater subcompact minivan priced around P500,000 that has been gaining popularity because of its affordable price tag.

Foton is Asia’s largest manufacturer of commercial vehicles including passenger vehicles, light duty trucks, heavy duty trucks and heavy machinery.

The new dealer showroom and service center is prominently located along the stretch of Maharlika Highway, San Jose, Pili in Camarines Sur.

United Asia Automotive Group Inc. (UAAGI), the exclu- sive distributor of Foton vehicles in the country, awarded this dealership to the Automarken Group, the same automotive group that operates the Gratour Business Outlet in Legazpi, Albay.

Early last year, UAAGI inaugurated its 11-hectare assembly plant in Clarkfield, Pampanga.

“Our team is beyond grateful for UAAGI’s trust in our capabilities to bring Foton vehicles closer to the families and businesses of the Bicolanos,” said Foton Cam Sur dealer principal

Jeremie Lo.

Guests during the opening of the Cam Sur dealership were Senator Cynthia Villar, Camarines Sur Congressman Luis Raymund “LRay” Villafuerte, and Camarines Sur Governor Miguel Luis “Migs” Villafuerte.

“The patronage and warm welcome of our leaders and government units to Foton serves as a great booster to our brand. We’re glad because we share the same objective—to uplift our province’s economy for both rural and urban settings,” Lo said.

Camarines Sur is part of the central section of the Bicol peninsula with a land area of over 5,400 square kilometers, and is considered to be the largest province in the region.

“Here in Bicol, the demand for commercial vehicles incessantly increases as our community continues to develop the industries that we are known for,” said Lo.

The Cam Sur dealership is one of the largest dealerships in terms of lot size. The showroom accommodates seven vehicles and comes with the latest Foton customer lounge design.

Its service center has a total of six service bays for passenger vehicles, and eight for trucks and commercial vehicles.

UAAGI president Rommel Sytin believes that this facility will serve as a major undertaking for the whole Bicol region as it is a substantial testament of the province’s growth and business progress.

“Along with our goal to provide reliable and affordable business solutions through our products and services, we also assure to give full support to our dealer in terms of sales training and marketing for them to achieve maximum sales growth,” Sytin said.
