Top com­pany exec falls to death

A com­pany ex­ec­u­tive died af­ter fall­ing from the 10th floor of his of­fice build­ing in Pasig City on Fri­day morn­ing, the po­lice said.

The body of Fer­di­nand Ed­win Coseteng was found on the pave­ment just out­side a bank at Tower 3 of Rock­well Busi­ness Cen­ter on Or­ti­gas Av­enue, Barangay Ugong.

Coseteng was brought to The Med­i­cal City hospi­tal, where he was de­clared dead on ar­rival.

Ac­cord­ing to a re­port by Chief Supt. Ro­mulo Sa­pit­ula, the dis­trict di­rec­tor of the Eastern Po­lice Dis­trict, which cov­ers Pasig, a se­cu­rity guard at the bank said he heard a loud thud and sensed that some­thing fell from the tower around 8 a.m.

The re­port quoted a wit­ness as say­ing that the 54-year-old Coseteng was seen step­ping on a chair and jump­ing from the 10th floor of the 16-story build­ing, where his of­fice was lo­cated.

Coseteng was the ex­ec­u­tive vice pres­i­dent of First Philip­pine Hold­ings Corp. (FPHC), a man­age­ment and in­vest­ment firm that is part of the Lopez Group of Com­pa­nies.

He was also the pres­i­dent of First Philip­pine In­dus­trial Park Inc. and First Philip­pine Elec­tric Corp., ac­cord­ing to the FPHC web­site.

His pro­file posted on the web­site also said he was a di­rec­tor of Rock­well Land Corp.
