TABORA WINS BOWLING WORLD CUP

-

Philippine team mainstay Krizziah Tabora won the women’s title in the 53rd QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup Champions held in Hermosillo, Mexico.

A report posted at quibicaamf.com said Tabora beat Siti Safiyah of Malaysia, 236-191, in the finals held on Saturday.

Earlier, Siti beat reigning titlist Jenny Wegner of Sweden, 227-197, to arrange her finals duel with Tabora, who topped Colombian Rocio Restrepo, 249222, in the second match.

Both Siti and Tabora had an open frame but Tabora started striking and Siti could not match her.

In the end, Tabora carded a 236 against Siti’s 191.

“I know people at home have been watching on live streaming and I’ve already got lots of notifications from friends and family,” the report quoted Tabora as saying

“It has been a good year for me. Our ladies’ team took bronze in the Southeast Asian Games and then we got silver in the Asian Indoor Games. But this is by far our best.”

With Tabora’s victory, the Philippines now has eight World Cup titles.
