Cignal had to dig deep into its in­ner re­solve to ham­mer out a 2624, 17-25, 25-22, 20-25, 17-15 vic­tory over Generika-Ayala Satur­day for its sec­ond win in four match- es in the Philip­pine Superliga Al­lFilipino Con­fer­ence at Alonte Sta­dium in Biñan, La­guna.

“I wanted to help the team get back to win­ning, that’s why at the start of the match, I said to my­self I would dig every ball pos­si­ble,” said Cignal libero Jheck Dionela in Filipino.

Dionela had 31 ex­cel­lent digs as the HD Spik­ers’ bounced back from ego-bust­ing defeats to league heavy­weights Fo­ton and F2 Lo­gis­tics.

My­lene Paat top­scored with 28 points as she pro­vided not just scor­ing mus­cle but lead­er­ship for the HD Spik­ers.

“I’m happy with the way the team showed com­po­sure and fight­ing spirit,” said the 24year-old Paat in Filipino af­ter send­ing the Lifesavers to a 0-3 card.
