3 ex-rebs con­victed of judge’s mur­der

Three for­mer mem­bers of the Rev­o­lu­tion­ary Pro­le­tar­ian Army were con­victed on Fri­day of the mur­der of Re­gional Trial Court Judge Henry Ar­les of Ka­bankalan City, Ne­gros Oc­ci­den­tal, six years ago and each were sen­tenced to life in prison. Judge Editha Mina Aguba, of the Que­zon City Re­gional Trial Court Branch 100, found Ale­jan­dro Ca­punong, Ed­die For­tu­nado and Jessie Daguia guilty of the mur­der of Ar­les. Ar­les was driv­ing home from work when he was at­tacked in Ilog town, Ne­gros Oc­ci­den­tal, on April 24, 2012. The three were paid to kill Ar­les with Daguia get­ting P81,000; Ca­punong, P31,000 and For­tu­nado, P75,000. The mas­ter­mind of the killing, how­ever, re­mained uniden­ti­fied.
