Giving Back to Society

“For this collection, we strove to create something more casual, wearable, and affordable for a new market,” Damiani adds. “We chose materials that are not traditionally used in jewellery, like leather, and combine them with gold and other precious metals. The overall effect is sporty, elegant, and luxurious.”

Modelled after the bangles from the original Metropolitan Dream collection, the Nakata bracelets are thinner and more rugged. One version features a cord with the wearer’s choice of a small jewelled cross or three equidistantly-strung metal spheres. Another version’s band is made of rigid leather with the same selection of embellishments. The bracelets may be worn individually or together on the same wrist for a look that is macho without being too aggressively masculine.

For those with simpler, more traditional tastes, cross-shaped pendants are also available to be worn on a silver or gold chain around one’s neck. The larger pendants are best worn individually, while smaller ones can be worn singly for elegant understatement or in pairs for more visual interest. But there is more to the collection than just adding a touch of casual elegance to a modern man’s wardrobe.

Part of the proceeds of each sale from the collection supports humanitarian initiatives that have become the Damiani Group’s venues for corporate social responsibilities.

In Japan, Damiani helps support Nakata’s Take Action Foundation. Take Action provides support for global issues. Most recently, it donated to Japan’s “Home for All” project which provides sustainable housing for victims of recent natural disasters.

Elsewhere, the collection helps support another key Damiani beneficiary: the Drop in a Bucket Foundation which aims to provide clean water and adequate health and livelihood support for impoverished communities in the African Continent, particularly in Uganda. In addition to 60 artesian wells previously built by the Damiani Group, proceeds from the Metropolitan Dream by H Nakata collection are expected to help build 10 additional wells, which will improve the standard of living for local residents through access to clean, fresh water.

More than just a casual accessory for active sportsmen, Damiani’s latest collection also serves as a lifeline for a better future. The Metropolitan Dream by H Nakata Collection has designs that are both casual and elegant, perfect for an active lifestyle
