At a fresh age of 23, Alessandra Poblador— or Alex—is quite the achiever. A graduate of computer science in Columbia University, she now works as project manager in AIG and is based in New York.
During her free time, she can be found reading the news or books on fiction and history. She also likes strolling around her Brooklyn neighbourhood which has been her home for six years now. She advocates for women’s empowerment and environmental preservation, improving access to education and information, as well as increasing civic responsibility and political engagement. She lists Hillary Clinton, Beyoncé, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, and Elon Musk as her inspirations.
The only daughter out of real estate broker Sandie Poblador and law practitioner Manuel Poblador’s three children, Alex would like to follow the spirituality of her parents. She admires their sense of individualism and ability to enjoy life. A traveller, hiker, cyclist, and yogi, she would like to achieve her full potential someday and also hopes to write for National Geographic.
