Bonded by mu­tual bore­dom from their 9-to-5 jobs, Ital­ian friends Loris Messina, 29, and Si­mone Rizzo, 28, started Sunnei in 2014. The duo came up with their brand name af­ter lis­ten­ing to a song that had the word “sunny” as a re­frain, and the joy­ful ad­jec­tive has come to de­fine much of their de­sign aes­thetic. In Rizzo and Messina’s col­lec­tions, this trans­lates into fuss-free sil­hou­ettes, ex­per­i­men­tal fab­rics, and play­ful lines, all of which feel right at home in the mod­ern gen­tle­man’s wardrobe. This isn’t merely trendy fash­ion, mind: the de­sign­ers have be­come known for us­ing tra­di­tional Ital­ian crafts­man­ship and man­u­fac­tur­ers, paired with high-qual­ity ma­te­ri­als and some se­ri­ously sharp tai­lor­ing. Favourites from this sea­son are drop-shoul­dered sportscoats and re­laxed denim trousers—clas­sics stream­lined into moder­nity.
