What happens when it’s the bride who decides to shower her best girls with one of the best days ever?

As the girls posed for Shaira, event stylist Jo Claravall busily prepared the dinner setup in the adjacent studio space. The objective was to transport the group to a different place without moving locations. Jo was adamant in making it work, but confessed that the idea was far from what she’s used to. “My style is grown-up elegance. To have a lot of whimsical details was a departure [for me].” While her centerpieces comprised of glass jars set against purple blooms, what captured everyone’s attention were the glowing fairy lights that fully enveloped the area together with the white balloons in varying sizes that added a dreamy lightness to the space. “I had to practice a lot of restraint,” Jo said. “If the balloons were done slightly different it may have ended up looking like a kiddie party!” As soon as the shoot ended, we revealed the dreamy dining area, which was met with surprise and excitement. Patty was just as astonished to see the space and declared, “You guys, I know you were planning a dinner for us, but I can’t believe that you did all of this! Ang ganda-ganda.” She couldn’t stop admiring the room while she and her friends snappedaway and gamely posed beside the softly lit walls.

Dinner was served once the girls took their seats, featuring a secret course that was served on silver-domed plates. Patty gave a short toast before allowing her bridesmaids to lift the lids: “Thank you to my friends who took the time out to be with me today in spite of my kakulitan. Here’s a little something I personally picked for each of you—so you better like it!” Everyone expressed their delight as they saw boxes containing Pandora tokens with notes like “My ‘I Do’ would not be the same without you” or “I can’t be with my mister without my sister,” and the girls’ names handwritten on each one. Smiling from ear to ear and still in disbelief with how their Saturday turned out, we heard someone say out loud, “Best surprise ever!”
