Brent Sabas Il­lus­tra­tor

Along­side his day job as an art di­rec­tor in an ad­ver­tis­ing agency, Brent has been ac­tively pur­su­ing his ca­reer as an il­lus­tra­tor. He was a pan­elist for the Ate­neo Heights Artist Work­shop, “where we gave ad­vice to young artists on how they could im­prove their craft,” he re­calls. He also de­signed and il­lus­trated the poster for the movie

Ang Babae Sa Sep­tic Tank 2. His pas­sion pro­ject, which is a visual com­men­tary on the coun­try’s press­ing so­cio-po­lit­i­cal is­sues called the “PhiliPAINS” se­ries, re­cently made its rounds on the In­ter­net. “I’m also cur­rently work­ing with Sum­mit for a comic an­thol­ogy,” Brent shares. Raniel Her­nan­dez Pho­tog­ra­pher

Raniel is one busy bee these days. From be­ing a mul­ti­me­dia de­signer for AirAsia PH, Raniel is now han­dling the cre­ative arm of AirAsia’s so­cial me­dia on a re­gional scale,

“kaya mas busy this time,” he quips. But he still man­ages to be ac­tively in­volved in his “baby,” @Si­noPi­nas (on In­sta­gram). Ka­t­rina Lim Gen­eral man­ager, Gau­tier

When Ka­t­rina graced RL’s July 2016 is­sue, pre­mium French fur­ni­ture brand Gau­tier was just a few months old. Gau­tier has since found its foothold in the lo­cal fur­ni­ture mar­ket, and had cel­e­brated its first an­niver­sary last April. “We’re happy that Gau­tier Sin­ga­pore has opened a few months ago, which should help in­crease aware­ness of the brand in South­east Asia,” Ka­t­rina re­lates. Gau­tier is also bring­ing in more ac­ces­sories as one of its store’s high­lights. Mara Manalo In­te­rior De­signer

Mara had been busy with com­mer­cial projects the past year. She also got into a hand­ful of con­sul­ta­tions for set and pro­duc­tion de­sign for var­i­ous video and photo shoots, as well as styling events. “I’ve no­ticed that I’m ex­plor­ing dif­fer­ent forms of de­sign—the scope of work isn’t just lim­ited to in­te­ri­ors.” Some of her ca­reer high­lights in­clude de­sign­ing the of­fice of video pro­duc­tion com­pany Se­abis­cuit Films, de­sign­ing Blake’s Wings & Steaks restau­rant along Katipunan Ex­ten­sion, and par­tic­i­pat­ing as one of the de­sign­ers in last year’s RL Space. Cur­rently, she’s work­ing on the ren­o­va­tion of the San Pe­dro An­to­nio Ter­mi­nal Sta­tion in La­guna, along­side a cou­ple of re­tail and restau­rant projects. Chino Car­los and Miah Gomez In­te­rior de­sign­ers, Car­los + Gomez In­te­rior De­sign

The young de­sign duo was was re­cently fea­tured as the de­sign­ers in Real Liv­ing’s March 2017 cover story. With a num­ber of restau­rant and co-work­ing of­fice de­sign projects up their sleeves, Chino and Miah still con­tinue to cre­ate dream homes for their clients in­clud­ing a chal­leng­ing Art De­coin­spired home. They have also been grow­ing their fur­ni­ture brand, Hatch Fur­ni­ture, sourc­ing for re­claimed ma­te­ri­als and build­ing ac­cent pieces. Email: cg_in­te­ri­orde­sign@ya­hoo.com

Erika Uichanco In­te­rior de­signer

Erika is on an in­te­rior de­sign high. From work­ing on sev­eral res­i­den­tial projects, this tal­ented de­signer also worked on a num­ber re­tail projects and even delved into prod­uct styling for ad­ver­to­rial cam­paigns for brands like SM Home and De­sign Story. One of her big­gest ac­com­plish­ments to date is a ho­tel on Mag­in­hawa St., Que­zon City. Erika helped trans­form a bed­room in this month’s “Real Liv­ing Makeover” (see p. 1060). Carlo Me­cate In­te­rior de­signer

Carlo had been re­ally busy lately, hav­ing fin­ished mostly com­mer­cial projects like a law of­fice in Manila, a fur­ni­ture show­room in Green­hills, and a spa in Ta­gay­tay. He’s cur­rently work­ing on a three-story com­mer­cial build­ing, where a hip food court will oc­cupy the whole ground floor. He still col­lab­o­rates with Mav Fur­ni­ture and a newly launched US brand, Bern­hardt, which he says are his go to stores for his fur­ni­ture re­quire­ments. Email: cme­cate@gmail.com
