It’s beautiful to watch Christina Bartges, otherwise known as Miss Badkiss, Manila’s hottest female DJ. On Wednesdays, you’ll find her at Prohibition at Dillinger’s. On Thursdays, Fridays, or Saturday nights, this gorgeous Filipina-German performs at M Café or at the Rocket Room. If not working, she spends time with partner, DJ Kristian Hernandez, and son, Maceo.

How are you these days?

A bit tired. I’ve been playing at least four nights a week. I’ve also been taking Maceo to school in the mornings.

How old is Maceo?

He is turning two this month! He loves to dance and says some Tagalog words already. He tries to say sabaw and baba.

Has he traveled with you?

He has been to Munich with me.

Do you miss Munich?

I miss the amazing public transport there. They have all the buses, trams, and an underground subway. I miss the parks and gardens that are within the city.

What do you like about Manila?

Everything is happening in Manila. The stores are open till late in the evening, and there is always a place to eat even after work.

Any travel plans soon?

I am planning to go to Europe sometime June or July.

What’s in your travel bag?

In my carry-on airplane bag I have a lip balm, moisturizer, candy, a reading material, neck pillow, headphones, and my iPod.

What’s next for Christina Bartges?

I would like to get more involved in our family business. We are developing our land in Batangas. Maybe have another baby. Now it’s time for word play. Please tell us the first thing that comes to mind when you hear the word: Art. Admire and love it.
