DOH allocates P5-M for Covid-19 testing fees for Bacolod patients
THE Department of Health (DOH) has allocated a total of P5 million financial assistance for coronavirus disease (Covid-19) testing fees for Bacolod City patients.
This was stressed by Bacolod City Lone District Representative Greg Gasataya yesterday after DOH Regional Director Marlyn Convocar
confirmed to him that the P5 million financial assistance is now available for the allocation to the province for Teresita L. Jalandoni Hospital (TLJPH).
Gasataya said TLJPH already conducted the reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test for Covid19 which also allowed the Bacolod patients.
“So if there’s an expenses for Covid-19 test, it will be charged to the DOH funds and it’s a big help to the Bacolodnons and to the TLJPH,” he said.
He added that it’s part of the memorandum of DOH between the province and the TLJPH.
Gasataya noted that in previous months, Bacolod and Negros Occidental used to send the swab samples to Iloilo City for Covid-19 tests.
Meanwhile, Gasataya also expressed support for the conduct of mass testing as long as there are enough facilities and kits for Covid-19.*
