August - Buwan ng Wika
The month of August marks the celebration of National Language Month (Buwan ng Wika) with the year’s theme: “Filipino: Wikang Mapagbago”.
Every schools are expected to come up with activities that will make the pupils understand why the Filipino language is the light and strength of our nation. These activities includes native dances and singing of Filipino songs. Pupils from different schools rehearsed and showcased their talents for the” Buwan ng Wika” program.
As a Filipino, we admire those who took part in the celebration, because in a sense that they want to be a part of this important event, their efforts in memorizing their lines, steps, and lyrics just to show everyone how Dr. Jose Rizal, our national hero, struggled for freedom which laid the evolution of our national language.
Buwan ng Wika is the time we remind our pupils the importance of Filipino Language. Although English is used in school. Filipino language is one of the things that could identify a person. It boost our national pride and it symbolizes how rich a cultural heritage our country has. By Carmelita B. Sad-ang
