Deadline for nominations of Mga Bagong Rizal today
THE PHILIPPINE Center for Gifted Education, Inc. (PCGE) announced the deadline for submission of nominations for the nationwide search of the “Mga Bagong Rizal: Pag-asa ng Bayan” will be today, August 31.
The search aims to select children and youth who are willing to take an oath to model their lives after the principles which Dr. Jose P. Rizal espoused among which is love for God and country, integrity, valor, and excellence in their respective areas of ability, interest and talent. They will serve as exemplars of what a complete Filipino youth is as envisioned by our national hero Dr. Jose Rizal.
It is also intended to help elevate Filipino consciousness for a life of integrity, dignity, truth, honesty and love of country thru selfawareness, leadership and skills development and recognition.
The search was launched in 2011, and the first batch of awardees took their oath during the 150th birth anniversary of Rizal.
Nominees must be from Grade 3 to College level in a public or private school including technical vocational enrollees and out of school youths (OSY) and should belong to the top five percent of their class.
For OSYs, they must also belong to the top five percent of last class attended or has been recognized for their outstanding ability or excellence in one or more of the multiple intelligences (confirmed through awards, local, regional, national, international).
Nominees at the time of nomination must have existing project or actively involved in an activity that shows concern for others; have shown commitment to school, community, regional or national goals through documented involvement in
projects and activities.
Nominees should have shown exemplary behavior, conduct, values, and interpersonal relationship skills; has shown leadership potential and more importantly is willing to perform the duties and obligations attendant to being chosen Bagong Rizal.
Self-nomination is not allowed.
All nominations and supporting documents should not be more than 25 pages and should be addressed and mailed to the PCGE Office at Unit 403, Greenhills Mansion, Annapolis Street, San Juan City. PCGE advises not to send originals since all submittals will not be returned.
