Abra PLGU brings people’s day to manabo
THE provincial government of Abra and the t national government field offices conducted People’s Day here bringing free services to the residents.
“Before, the people of Abra could hardly reach the basic services of the government. Now, it is the provincial government that keeps on reaching the people by delivering free services”, Vice Mayor Bruno Domingo Jr. said.
Governor Maria “Joy” Bernos handed over a financial support for the concreting of Manabo roads and other projects amounting to P20 million.
The Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office distributed food packs primarily to indigent families and free school bags to elementary pupils. The DSWD gave free medical and financial assistance to qualified beneficiaries.
The medical mission of the Department of Health, the Provincial Health Office and the Rural Health Unit of Manabo local government unit provided free medical check-up and medicines. The Provincial Dental Team likewise provided free dental services.
The Office of the Provincial Agriculturist distributed free certified vegetable seeds to the farmers while the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources gave free tilapia fingerlings for the fisher folks. The Office of the Provincial Veterinarian offered free pet vaccination.
The Public Attorney’s Office, meanwhile, gave free legal services while the Philippine Statistics Authority and the National Commission for Indigenous Peoples helped the people to acquire necessary certificates.
The Department of Education distributed free educational materials for elementary pupils while the Dept. Of
Environment and Natural Resources offered free public land survey.
Free haircut, pedicure, manicure and massage were also given by the Technical Education and Skills Authority.
The Overseas Filipino Workers Center accepted applications for livelihood grants to OFW returnees and the Public Employment Service Office provided help for job seekers abroad.
Capability-building activities were likewise provided during the People’s Day. The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office conducted disaster preparedness training while the Department of Trade and Industry conducted entrepreneurial development seminar to existing businesses and would-be entrepreneurs.
