Abra PLGU brings peo­ple’s day to man­abo

THE pro­vin­cial gov­ern­ment of Abra and the t na­tional gov­ern­ment field of­fices con­ducted Peo­ple’s Day here bring­ing free ser­vices to the res­i­dents.

“Be­fore, the peo­ple of Abra could hardly reach the ba­sic ser­vices of the gov­ern­ment. Now, it is the pro­vin­cial gov­ern­ment that keeps on reach­ing the peo­ple by de­liv­er­ing free ser­vices”, Vice Mayor Bruno Domingo Jr. said.

Gover­nor Maria “Joy” Ber­nos handed over a fi­nan­cial sup­port for the con­cret­ing of Man­abo roads and other projects amount­ing to P20 mil­lion.

The Pro­vin­cial So­cial Wel­fare and De­vel­op­ment Of­fice dis­trib­uted food packs pri­mar­ily to in­di­gent fam­i­lies and free school bags to el­e­men­tary pupils. The DSWD gave free med­i­cal and fi­nan­cial as­sis­tance to qual­i­fied ben­e­fi­cia­ries.

The med­i­cal mis­sion of the Depart­ment of Health, the Pro­vin­cial Health Of­fice and the Ru­ral Health Unit of Man­abo lo­cal gov­ern­ment unit pro­vided free med­i­cal check-up and medicines. The Pro­vin­cial Den­tal Team like­wise pro­vided free den­tal ser­vices.

The Of­fice of the Pro­vin­cial Agri­cul­tur­ist dis­trib­uted free cer­ti­fied veg­etable seeds to the farm­ers while the Bu­reau of Fish­eries and Aquatic Re­sources gave free tilapia fin­ger­lings for the fisher folks. The Of­fice of the Pro­vin­cial Vet­eri­nar­ian of­fered free pet vac­ci­na­tion.

The Pub­lic At­tor­ney’s Of­fice, mean­while, gave free le­gal ser­vices while the Philip­pine Sta­tis­tics Au­thor­ity and the Na­tional Com­mis­sion for Indige­nous Peo­ples helped the peo­ple to ac­quire nec­es­sary cer­tifi­cates.

The Depart­ment of Ed­u­ca­tion dis­trib­uted free ed­u­ca­tional ma­te­ri­als for el­e­men­tary pupils while the Dept. Of

En­vi­ron­ment and Nat­u­ral Re­sources of­fered free pub­lic land sur­vey.

Free hair­cut, pedi­cure, man­i­cure and mas­sage were also given by the Tech­ni­cal Ed­u­ca­tion and Skills Au­thor­ity.

The Over­seas Filipino Work­ers Cen­ter ac­cepted ap­pli­ca­tions for liveli­hood grants to OFW re­turnees and the Pub­lic Em­ploy­ment Ser­vice Of­fice pro­vided help for job seek­ers abroad.

Ca­pa­bil­ity-build­ing ac­tiv­i­ties were like­wise pro­vided dur­ing the Peo­ple’s Day. The Pro­vin­cial Dis­as­ter Risk Re­duc­tion and Man­age­ment Of­fice con­ducted dis­as­ter pre­pared­ness train­ing while the Depart­ment of Trade and In­dus­try con­ducted en­trepreneurial de­vel­op­ment sem­i­nar to ex­ist­ing busi­nesses and would-be en­trepreneurs.

Mayor Dar­rell Do­mas­ing thanked the Pro­vin­cial Gov­ern­ment and the par­tic­i­pat­ing na­tional agen­cies for reach­ing out to the peo­ple of Man­abo. (PIA Abra)
