Seized lum­ber do­nated

THE Com­mu­nity En­vi­ron­ment and Nat­u­ral Re­sources Of­fice (CENRO) Baguio do­nated con­fis­cated lum­ber to schools and gov­ern­ment.

CENRO of­fi­cer Rainier Bal­buena led the do­na­tion of 610 as­sorted lum­ber with a to­tal vol­ume of 3,525.587 board feet seized from Jan­uary to Au­gust this year.

The hot logs were con­fis­cated by the en­vi­ron­ment of­fice with po­lice en­forcers in sep­a­rate op­er­a­tions in dif­fer­ent ar­eas within the city with lum­ber from Camp John Hay turned over from san­i­ta­tion cut­ting ac­tiv­i­ties.

The schools in Baguio City which ben­e­fited from these ac­tiv­i­ties are Fort Del Pi­lar El­e­men­tary School in Loakan; Rizal El­e­men­tary School in Gi­bral­tar; and Camp 7 El­e­men­tary School in Ken­non Road. In Tuba are Gavino-Palaoag El­e­men­tary School in Twin Peaks and Gil­bert Si­mon El­e­men­tary School in Ta­di­an­gan.

Three schools in nearby La Trinidad also ben­e­fit­ted; Puguis El­e­men­tary School; Cordillera Re­gional High School in Wan­gal and the Balili El­e­men­tary School.

Other schools in the prov­ince in­clude the Pa­calso Memo­rial Na­tional High School and Am­pu­cao Na­tional High School both in Ito­gon with the

Baguio City Jail; Wa­ter­shed and Wa­ter Re­source Re­search Cen­ter (WWRRC) and Bureau of Fire Pro­tec­tion in Baguio City in­clud­ing CENR-Baguio of­fice in Kabayan; Barangay Tawang Hall and DSWD field of­fice in Puguis, La Trinidad.

The ben­e­fi­cia­ries will use the lum­ber for the con­struc­tion of ta­bles; in­stal­la­tion and re­pair of fur­ni­ture and fix­tures; fab­ri­ca­tion of ta­bles and book shelves; and re­pair of black­boards, win­dows, arm­chairs, ta­bles and cab­i­nets. CENRO Re­lease
