Seized lumber donated
THE Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) Baguio donated confiscated lumber to schools and government.
CENRO officer Rainier Balbuena led the donation of 610 assorted lumber with a total volume of 3,525.587 board feet seized from January to August this year.
The hot logs were confiscated by the environment office with police enforcers in separate operations in different areas within the city with lumber from Camp John Hay turned over from sanitation cutting activities.
The schools in Baguio City which benefited from these activities are Fort Del Pilar Elementary School in Loakan; Rizal Elementary School in Gibraltar; and Camp 7 Elementary School in Kennon Road. In Tuba are Gavino-Palaoag Elementary School in Twin Peaks and Gilbert Simon Elementary School in Tadiangan.
Three schools in nearby La Trinidad also benefitted; Puguis Elementary School; Cordillera Regional High School in Wangal and the Balili Elementary School.
Other schools in the province include the Pacalso Memorial National High School and Ampucao National High School both in Itogon with the
Baguio City Jail; Watershed and Water Resource Research Center (WWRRC) and Bureau of Fire Protection in Baguio City including CENR-Baguio office in Kabayan; Barangay Tawang Hall and DSWD field office in Puguis, La Trinidad.
The beneficiaries will use the lumber for the construction of tables; installation and repair of furniture and fixtures; fabrication of tables and book shelves; and repair of blackboards, windows, armchairs, tables and cabinets. CENRO Release
