“Lead­er­ship is not be­ing the best but bring­ing out the best in oth­ers” HE Ro­tary Lead­er­ship Awards (RYLA) was held last Oc­to­ber 27 to 29 in Alaminos City, the Home of the Hun­dred Is­lands Na­tional Park. The Ro­tary Club of Hun­dred Is­lands hosted the event in con­junc­tion with District 3790’s End Po­lio Car­a­van.

“The Ro­tary Youth Lead­er­ship Awards (RYLA)

Tis an in­ten­sive lead­er­ship ex­pe­ri­ence or­ga­nized by Ro­tary clubs and dis­tricts where one de­vel­ops skills as a leader while hav­ing fun and mak­ing con­nec­tions. Par­tic­i­pants are from 14 to 30 years old. Build­ing com­mu­ni­ca­tion and prob­lem­solv­ing skills; dis­cov­er­ing strate­gies for be­com­ing a dy­namic leader in one’s school or com­mu­nity; learn­ing from com­mu­nity lead­ers, in­spi­ra­tional speak­ers, and peer men­tors; un­lock­ing one’s po­ten­tial to turn mo­ti­va­tion into ac­tion; and hav­ing fun and last­ing friend­ships are among the ob­jec­tives.” - Ro­tary In­ter­na­tional
